When it comes to your personal style, your first investement should always be a full length mirror. I can’t help but think that a lot of fashion mistakes could have been remedied if the person making them had not first taken a quick glance in a full length mirror before leaving their house.
Anyone else love to watch "What Not to Wear" besides me? It is not surprising that many of the people nominated for that show have a little bit of shock when they stand in the 360 degree mirrors. I bet that many of them did not have a full length mirror at home and that was the start of their problems.

Here’s the deal. Many pieces can look great on you, they can all match nicely color wise, they could even look fantastic together laid out on your bed. But things can change when we put everything on and take a good look in the mirror.
I have on more than one occassion gotten all dressed and think I am Oh so cute until I turn round to look at my profile, or grab my hand bag and find out something is wrong. For example, I have a pair of really cute skinny black corduroy pants. They look great on me, and great with a variety of things, but I still have to be careful with them in two areas.
1. The slacks are low waisted and I have short legs. Most of the time I need to wear them with a black high healed boot. If I wear them with a low heal or a contrasting colored shoe, my legs look very disproportionately short compared to the rest of my body.
2. The slacks have cute little button flapped pockets on my rear end. I have to be careful when I am wearing slightly longer fitted jackets because the pockets under neath the back of the jacket end up making my tush look all funky, bumpy, and bigger than it really is. NO one wants that!
So please make the investment in a full length mirror. You can get them for pretty cheap. I got a simple one at Bed, Bath & Beyond that hangs on the back of my bathroom door. I found the mirror in the picture at www.Target.com for $39.99
