Ok, so I don’t have daughters, and at this point it does not look like I will be having any.  For whatever reason, God has given me three wonderful boys.

I Was One Once

I recently was talking to a couple of friends about our experiences as teens.  It  definitely was not my favorite time of life.   I was not always the most thoughtful or respectful young woman.  My parents were wonderful, but I do not  envy the dramas I put them through. And I often felt like I was sort of floundering my way through, too embarrassed to ask questions about anything.

If I Had the Privilege

I am a bit grateful that I won’t have to deal with some of the dramas of pre-teen and teen age girls.  But if I did have to face some of those issues, there is a new book out that just may help me breach some of those topics we mothers need to talk to our girls about.

The book, written by a friend I met networking and doing business online, focuses a lot on the physical changes a young girl goes through as she transitions to a teen and then to a woman.   She talks about everything from how to shave your legs and deal with acne, to sexuality and suicidal thoughts.  She also addresses the spiritual and practical challenges of raising a teen girl, including, nutrition, modesty and dating, all from a Christian perspective.

I Have an Autographed Copy

I’m happy to own a copy of this colorful book. I’m sure it will be good reference material for helping my friends with girls.  Plus, it is fun to see that she quoted this very blog in her chapter "I Want  You to Wear White at Your Wedding."  She used an excerpt from my post "Don’t Let Slips Slide."

Enjoy!
