Funny Story.
{Cliche}Don’t judge a book by its cover.
When I was preparing our home to be moved, I did a lot of culling, sorting and organizing. One of the tasks I took on was going through all of our CDs and DVDs. I dumped the ones that did not work, gave away those we did not really use anymore, and organized what was left into CD books. I had one for Music, one for Wii games, one for “Kids’ Movies,” and very innocently I labeled the last book “Adult Movies.”
“Adult Movies” seemed like a logical title. Having oodles of “kids’ movies,” what else is there left besides “adult movies.” I did not think much more about it until it was moving time.
When all of our friends came over to help us move the book label became an “issue.” Ha! Ha! You should have seen the faces and heard the razzing we got about our book of “Adult Movies.” We did not just have a couple of “Adult Movies,” we had a book filled with 64 of them. LOL! Wow, my eyes were opened to my label.
All of our friends know us well, but even they were a bit “concerned” when they first read the label on that book. I had not thought of the label I had put on my book in that way before. We laughed about it all day, frankly we laughed about it for months, and I still smirk whenever I look at that book.
Label Lessons
We unknowingly mislabel ourselves sometimes. Have you placed a label on yourself that others may be misreading? With the way you dress, they way you speak, with your posture? Check your labels with a new pair of eyes from time to time.
We may be misreading other people’s labels. Be careful not to judge the labels you have seen on others before opening the book to see what is inside. Look at the fruit, not just the leaves.
“17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.”
Matthew 7:17-18
Hope you can laugh at yourself today!

Have fun throwing your next party!
